Real Madrid have a big game scheduled for this weekend as they face Atletico Madrid in La Liga. Atletico Madrid was the only team that beat the Merengues last season, and the Merengues will be looking forward to getting some revenge on them in the coming match.

Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the press ahead of this game and addressed different aspects related to this match in particular and the things happening with Real Madrid in general.

As MARCA has reported, the Los Blancos trainer was looking forward to this game:

They are always a great rival, and that won’t change. It will be an entertaining, hard-fought match because both teams have a lot of quality. It’s going to be a spectacle.

The Italian tactician also shared his belief that Atletico will be one of the teams that will compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona for the league title this year:

It’s always special, and I think Atlético has improved a lot. They have signed good players, and I believe they will fight until the end for this La Liga title with us and Barcelona.

Ancelotti avoided making any big claims for this game, while also urging his team not to make the mistakes they made last year:

Every match has its own story. Predicting what will happen tomorrow is complicated. We have a plan, and we’ll see if it works out.

“Obviously, we need to avoid the mistakes from last year. That learning experience can benefit us for tomorrow’s match.”

This will truly be a very entertaining match in general. But Real Madrid will be driven to get a victory because of the defeats they faced last season. They have Thibaut Courtois back in goal for this game, who is yet to lose to Atletico in his career, but will be without Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius will have to take the mantle of leading the attacking line.
