Ancelotti determined to help Real Madrid superstar recover his best form | OneFootball

Real Madrid took away a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid last night at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash.

Rodrygo Goes and Brahim Diaz were among the goals for Los Blancos on what was a rather odd night for the men in white as both star men Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe looked completely out of touch.

Despite it being a Champions League night and having all the reasons to pull out a special game, both talismans struggled against Los Rojiblancos and never really got going. Needless to say, there is growing concern in the Real Madrid offices.

Objective Mbappe

As relayed in a recent report by MARCA, Carlo Ancelotti and Co. are growing increasingly concerned about the situation of Mbappe who has lost his footing despite looking threatening just weeks ago. As such, they are determined to help him return to his best.

When Real Madrid took on Manchester City last month, the Frenchman stepped up and delivered some of his best performances as a Real Madrid player and scored four goals in just two UCL games.

Now, all of a sudden, the new signing has completely disconnected from the team once more and his performances against Real Betis and Atletico Madrid were far from what is expected of him.

There is indeed the factor of Mbappe undergoing a tooth extraction and the complications that followed hindering his performance. However, Real Madrid wish to help the player return to his best before he begins sinking once more.

Ancelotti has thus made it his mission to recover the best version of Mbappe at the earliest and bring him back to the confident self he was two weeks ago.

The coming games will be critical and the administration hopes he can play a pioneering role at the Civitas Metropolitano where holding on to the lead will be easier said than done.
