Real Madrid are set to kickstart their Spanish Super Cup campaign tomorrow when they take on Mallorca in the semifinal.

Speaking to the press ahead of the game, coach Carlo Ancelotti offered some key updates while sharing his views on Vinicius Junior’s recent red card against Valencia.

Ancelotti was asked about Barcelona’s registration issues with Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, though the Italian offered a coy response.

“I can only speak about tomorrow’s match. I don’t want to comment on this because I don’t want to speak about it,” Ancelotti said (h/t MARCA) when asked about Barcelona’s registration woes.

The Italian went on to discuss things he could talk about, including Vinicius Junior’s red card against Valencia.

“Vinicius’ behavior? We’re happy with Vini Jr in every aspect,” he said. “The decision to suspend Vini Jr for two matches is not right.”

The Brazilian was shown a red card after shoving the Valencia goalkepeer. Real Madrid, though, did allege that there was racist abuse hurled towards the forward from the Valencia stands.

“When people talk about Vini Jr’s ’provocating’, the insults he receives are diverted from the spotlight,” he said. “Me and Vini hear the things that happen on the pitch. I keep saying, it’s difficult to be Vini Jr.”

La Liga, in its report, though, have refuted Real Madrid’s claims. Despite finding several offensive chants, they did not find anything that can be classified as racist.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti offered a little update on the fitness of David Alaba, stating, “Alaba is feeling very good. We’ll see him soon.”

Finally, the Italian talked about the opponents, Mallorca, raving Los Bermellones for reaching this stage of the competition.

“We have a lot of respect for Mallorca. It’s a team you have to respect. Our job is to reach the final,” he said.

“It will be a very competitive game. They have good characteristics and they will fight for the game with us,” he concluded.

It must be remembered that Real Madrid, alongside Barcelona, have recently decided to share a small portion of their revenue from Super Cup with Mallorca – a step aimed at ensuring more equity in the way finances are allocated in the competition.
