Anderlecht have received a boost with the return of Marco Kana to training. As reported by DH, the 20-year-old has made a long awaited return to training following an injury he picked up at the start of 2023. The versatile Belgian youth international has made 11 appearances in all competitions for the Mauves this season.
Kana can play either as a central defender or central midfielder, an option that would be welcome for Brian Riemer given the injuries he has suffered to the central defenders in his squad. Kana has been capped at every youth level for the Belgian national team and is considered another top prospect coming out of the club. It is unlikely that Kana will be thrown straight in to the sides next game against Gent.
Under new head coach Riemer, Anderlecht are starting to find form. They are on an extended unbeaten run in the league and made it through to the next stage of the Europa Conference League. This was in large part down to Bart Verbruggen’s heroics during the penalty shoot-out against Ludogorets.
