Manchester City’s Filippa Angeldahl grabbed an assist as Sweden made it four wins from four in Women’s World Cup qualifying with a 2-1 victory over Finland.

The midfielder set up Juventus’ Lina Hurtig for the game’s winning goal ten minutes from time in front of a sell-out 14,500 crowd in Gothenburg.

The victory extended the Swedes’ lead at the top of European Group A to six points, with the visitors their closest rivals at the start of play.

Angeldahl and co. took the lead just after the 10-minute mark when Fridolina Rolfo convincingly slotted home after being threaded through by Lina Hurtig.

But the Olympic silver medallists were pegged back on the half hour when Linda Sallstrom grabbed an equaliser for the Finns.

The hosts were instantly on the front foot as they looked to regain their lead, registering 15 shots in total in comparison to Finland’s five over the course of the 90 minutes.

And they were eventually rewarded for their efforts when Angeldahl laid on for Hurtig to grab the game’s decisive goal.

Sweden are back in World Cup qualifying action on Tuesday 30 November when they play host to Slovakia.

The match gets underway at 18:00 (UK), and we’ll keep you updated on how Angeldahl and co. have got on right here on mancity.com, the official Man City app and on Twitter: @ManCityWomen.
