Wolfsburg’s coach Ralph Hasenhüttl started the season on a bright note, but their recent bad form could force the club to another managerial change. Peter Christiansen leaves the Austrian coach’s future open in an interview with kicker.
"I've been in this business too long to talk about such topics at this point," said Wolfsburg’s managing director after a home defeat to Heidenheim. "The performance and result against Heidenheim were very disappointing for all of us. But, we have to put that behind us now and prove in the upcoming games how prepared and determined we are to achieve our goals."Christiansen deflected the question about Hasenhüttl’s future when asked about the 57-year-old coach’s future at the club. The former Leipzig coach has a contract that runs until 2026 in Wolfsburg. However, recent performances divided opinions at the club.
For his part, Hasenhüttl previously called Wolfsburg’s European hopes an “ambitious goal”. He reiterated that sentiment after back-to-back 1-0 defeats. "I won't break the stick over my team," he emphasized in his post-match interview yesterday.
