Antony's agent offers update on Man Utd future after bright Real Betis start | OneFootball

Antony's agent has refused to rule out a return to Manchester United for the winger after his latest impressive performance for loan side Real Betis.

Having tumbled to the bottom of the pecking order under both Ruben Amorim and predecessor Erik ten Hag, Antony opted for Betis as his new temporary home, and the move could hardly have gone better thus far.

The 24-year-old has two Player of the Match awards to his name from just three games and has also found the back of the net twice, showcasing the sort of form which deserted him during his time in England. Asked to explain his form, Antony simply insisted he was "happy" again.

Crucially, Antony's loan deal with Betis does not include the option for a permanent transfer, and the Brazilian's agent has now left the door open to a possible return to United this summer.

"Antony respects Amorim a lot, for sure," agent Junior Pedroso told Fabrizio Romano. "But we understood in January that his moment at the club was not good, so Manchester United also understood that leaving on loan was the best way for Antony to recover his best form.

"I believe that football is very dynamic. There are no long-term plans to be made. There may still be a few more chapters in his story with Manchester United, or there may not be. This will depend on many factors involving decisions by the club and him in the near future."

Pedroso, who described Antony's United future as "open", went on to add: "I can confirm there's no buy option clause in the contract. So Antony will be a Manchester United player from July."
