Despite not winning Europe’s most prestigious club title since 2010, the Italians have made another deep run in the tournament.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri reached the final in 2023, only for Manchester City to leave them heartbroken in the Istanbul showpiece.

Two years on, Simone Inzaghi could guide the defending Serie A champions into another title-deciding fixture.

However, overcoming Barcelona may be the most challenging task in European football right now.

Furthermore, Inter’s recent fall from grace doesn’t bode well, though Gianluigi Buffon believes they can compete with Barca.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez doesn’t lose hope and hopes to captain the San Siro outfit in another European final.

“A match like this gives us so much energy,” El Toro said. “I’m really happy and excited to be playing another Champions League semifinal with Inter.

“In three years, we’ve reached this stage twice. It’s hugely important for us, for the group, for Inter.

“We have these last few hours to prepare the final details of the match, and tomorrow we’ll face a great team like Barcelona,” he added.

“In these days we’ve tried to recover energy because we spent a lot against Roma.

“At the same time, we’ve prepared really well for this match — both offensively and defensively.

“We have to execute the work we’ve prepared and what we’ve analyzed about what they do well.

“To catch their defensive line, we need to work calmly and patiently, waiting for the right moment.

“We’ve worked well over these past few days.”

Despite coming into this tie as outsiders, Inter can draw confidence from avoiding defeat in their last two games against Barca.
