Mikel Arteta has confirmed William Saliba remains a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to face Wolves in the Premier League.
Saliba has missed the club’s last two games after picking up a hamstring injury in the North London derby earlier this month. His absence was felt as Arsenal surrendered a two-goal lead to draw with Aston Villa last weekend.
Arsenal travel to Molineux this weekend to take on a struggling Wolves side. Ahead of the clash, Arteta confirmed that Saliba and Myles Lewis-Skelly will be assessed but remain doubtful. Ben White remains unavailable.
“With Myles [Lewis-Skelly], it’s nothing serious. Today, we will have a meeting with the medical staff. William [Saliba] is something similar,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
“They will definitely be for next week, tomorrow we will see. Ben White is unavailable.”
Arteta said he is expecting a tough fixture tomorrow, despite Wolves battling against relegation. Wolves have lost three consecutive Premier League games and sit outside the relegation places on goal difference.
“It will be a really tough match tomorrow. They are a really good side, so we will have to compete. They are in a different moment now as well. Everything is important.
“You know I prefer not to talk about individuals, just the collective quality they have.”
