Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel has agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur on loan today, snubbing Arsenal, Manchester United and other suitors in the process, according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Spurs have pipped the Gunners and others to the services of the 19-year-old having already agreed terms with the Bundesliga club.

Tottenham and Bayern agreed a £50 million fee for Tel last week but he initially rejected the chance to join the North London club, giving Arsenal and other suitors a chance in the race.

Bayern have been pushing for a permanent sale or for an obligation to buy to be included in any loan deal, while the Gunners want a loan deal with an option to buy.

It appears Spurs have met the demands of the youngster and a transfer deadline-day deal has been sealed from the look of things in a huge boost for manager Ange Postecoglou.

The agent of the Frenchman and the player have been spotted on a plane and are reportedly on their way to London to seal the deal.

It is a huge blow for Arsenal, who will now have to look elsewhere for the attacking reinforcement manager Mikel Arteta wants.

The Spaniard wanted Tel, but a deal could not be reached with Bayern, and he could now be on his way to Tottenham following the update from France.

Spurs are in dire need of a striker after Dominic Solanke picked up an injury, and Tel has an opportunity to prove himself and establish himself as a regular in the team in the coming weeks should the move get completed before the deadline tonight.
