Arsenal are ‘determined’ to sign Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino as Mikel Arteta looks to add another option to his forward line.
The Gunners agreed a deal to sign Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea on deadline day but are assessing the market for long-term additions to the squad.
Leandro Trossard will turn 30 in December, while Gabriel Martinelli’s inconsistent form has heightened the need for further firepower on the flanks.
Arsenal were linked with Nico Williams, of Athletic Bilbao, during the summer but are now targeting another Spain international, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
According to the report, Yeremy Pino is high on Arsenal’s wish list after the North Londoners decided the 21-year-old was ‘perfect’ for their system.
Pino is regarded as one of Spain’s brightest young talents and is currently stepping up his recovery from an ACL injury that decimated his 2023/24 campaign.
The winger became the youngest Spanish player to start a major European final, aged 18 years and 218 days, when Villarreal beat Manchester United to win the Europa League in 2021. He has made 135 appearances for the Yellow Submarine, scoring 18 goals, and has netted twice in 13 senior caps for Spain.
