Arsenal have been handed a Premier League title boost as Manchester City are set to be without Spanish midfielder Rodri for the remainder of the season, according to Spanish outlet Marca.

The Euro 2024 star was withdrawn 21 minutes into the game against the Gunners yesterday after injuring himself while trying to get away from Thomas Partey during a corner in the 16th minute.

His right knee caught the Arsenal midfielder and he fell to the ground, and initial tests have confirmed that he has torn the Anterior Cruciate Ligament of his right knee.

Rodri is heading to Madrid for further tests but is all but out of the campaign from the look of things.

Arsenal star Jurrien Timber suffered a similar injury last term, spending almost the entire campaign out of action.

Man City having to do without Rodri for months will deal a massive blow on their title chances, but it could be a boost for Arsenal.

The Premier League leaders struggled without their influential midfielder yesterday once he was withdrawn, with the Gunners scoring both of their goals in his absence.

Man City have quality depth in squad but Rodri remains one of their most important players, and manager Pep Guardiola has a huge headache to deal with going forward.

The Spaniard is looking to lead his side to a fifth consecutive Premier League title, but Arsenal are ready to give them a run for their money after finishing second behind them in each of the last two seasons.

The Emirates Stadium club outfit will know their chances of winning the title this term has received a boost following the injury to Rodri, and manager Mikel Arteta will hope his players can avoid long-term injuries this term.
