Liverpool went into last week with genuine hopes of winning the Premier League, Champions League and League Cup treble.
By Sunday night, defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United had scuppered their hopes of winning the last two competitions.
While a 12-point lead with nine games remaining looks unassailable in the Premier League, Arsenal must keep believing they can overhaul the Reds.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has received plenty of praise this term, but recent developments have changed the narrative.
His unwillingness to rotate his squad due to a lack of faith in fringe players has impacted their performances at a crucial point in the season.
The Reds should have enough about them to get over the line, but the upcoming fixture list undoubtedly offers Arsenal a glimmer of hope.
Liverpool have some tricky games to come and could easily ship a sizeable chunk of points before the Gunners visit Anfield in May.
Slipping up from this position would be a major calamity for Liverpool and Arsenal must do what they can to exert some pressure over the next few weeks.
It’s the international break. Switch off the television and have an early night.
