Arsenal are open to spending £100 million on a single player again following a relatively economical summer window, according to the Daily Mail.

However, the Gunners may need to be creative in the market to land their second £100m player, with a striker top of their plans.

Arsenal signed England international midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United in 2024 for a club-record initial £100m, potentially rising by £5m in add-ons.

They know they may need to part with something similar to land their next dream signing – a lethal number nine.

The club remain keen on Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak after considering him last summer, but a January move is not on the cards right now.

They could do with another attacker following the injury to Bukayo Saka, but a loan deal could be their only option.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would like to sign Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams before the January transfer window ends, but the finances involved make a deal tricky.

A loan move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson has been mooted, but the Seagulls could insist on an obligation to buy in the deal.

Arsenal will continue to scour the market in Europe and other continents for an attacking signing capable of improving their squad and fortunes for the second half of the season.

However, they may need to wait until summer to have the best chance of landing their desired striking target, but whether they can win the Premier League with the current team is debatable.

They are already at risk of elimination from the Carabao Cup after losing 2-0 to Newcastle United in the first-leg of the semi-finals at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night

Their chances of winning silverware this term would be further dealt a blow if they fail to overturn the deficit in the second-leg.
