Arsenal were linked with Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong earlier this year amid reports manager Mikel Arteta was looking to bolster his squad.

Nothing has progressed in recent months and it appears the Gunners are no longer interested in recruiting the services of the versatile Netherlands international.

However, it appears Frimpong is an Arsenal fan or an admirer of their home jersey for the season as he has been seen rocking the top.

His girlfriend uploaded a short clip of the former Celtic star donning the Gunners shirt on her Instagram page, and Arsenal fans have been left guessing, and some could be thinking the Bayer star is sending a come-get-me-plea to the North London club.

Frimpong was reportedly heading for a summer exit a couple of months ago despite helping his club land the Bundesliga title, with suitors swarming around the £35 million-rated right wing-back at the time.

The Manchester City academy graduate ended 2023-24 with 14 goals and 12 assists in 47 games, playing a key role as Bayer also won the German Cup and reached the final of the Europa League.

Arsenal could do with such a player within their ranks, but a move for the 23-year-old is not on the cards from the look of things.

While winning aerial duels are the greatest weakness of the 5ft 8in star, his dribbling, passing, crossing, finishing and defensive contribution are excellent, and the bigwigs in Europe will come knocking sooner or later.
