London City Lionesses have completed the signing of midfielder Gesa Marashi on a two-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this morning.

Marashi joins London City Lionesses after playing her football within the Arsenal academy system. The 18-year-old represented The Gunners at Professional Game Academy League level, although she never made a senior appearance for the club.

In a bid to get some first team experience under her belt, Marashi joined former Barclays Women’s Championship club Reading on a dual-registration deal in the final weeks of last season. The player was involved in a couple of The Royals’ matchday squads.

After completing her move to London City Lionesses, Marashi said “I could see that the project is building and that there would be opportunities here to help the team try to win promotion from the Championship.

“I’m a box-to-box midfielder and I like to make an impact at both ends of the pitch. I like attacking and scoring, but defending is important as well.

“With all of the changes that are happening at the training ground, it’s a really exciting time to join the Club and I’m happy to be here.”

Marashi becomes London City Lionesses’ fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
