Arsenal Veteran Faces Major Obstacle for Barcelona Dream Move Amid PSG, Juventus Interest

Paris Saint-Germain have no shortage of talent in midfield, but they’re definitely light on size. Fabian Ruiz is the tallest of the bunch at 6-foot-2 (1.89m), and after him, there’s a noticeable drop-off.
Senny Mayulu offers some height at 6 feet (1.83m), but depth behind the 18-year-old is pretty thin. That could push PSG to target a taller midfielder this summer—ideally someone who fits into Luis Enrique’s system.
Another angle the club might explore is bringing in a veteran to balance out the youthful core they’ve built over the past few transfer windows.
In that vein, Arsenal insider Charles Watts recently reported that the Gunners haven’t started contract talks with Thomas Partey. His deal runs out this summer, and Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG are all said to be keeping tabs on the situation.

Partey is reportedly eyeing a return to LaLiga, with Barcelona at the top of his list. The midfielder’s contract expires at the end of this season, and according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Diario AS), Barcelona are one of his preferred destinations to continue his career.
The club have kept tabs on his situation, viewing him as a potential bargain given the financial terms. However, the path to a deal isn’t straightforward. With Marc Casadó, Marc Bernal and Frenkie de Jong already covering similar roles, there isn’t a clear need at the moment.
Things could change if de Jong’s situation takes a turn and he ends up leaving this summer, though Mundo Deportivo reports the Dutchman currently intends to stay. So, while Partey may be keen on a Camp Nou move, the odds are stacked against it for now.
