The Brazilian defender missed Wednesday’s 2-0 home win over Manchester United and Jakub Kiwior continues at centre-back alongside William Saliba at Craven Cottage.

Thomas Partey starts at right-back, with Jurrian Timber at left-back.

Jorginho comes into midfield alongside Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice. Odegaard captains Arsenal for the 100th time.

Leandro Trossard has been given the nod ahead of Gabriel Martinelli in attack.

Trossard and Bukayo Saka flank Kai Havertz, who leads the line.

Riccardo Calafiori is again absent and Oleksandr Zinchenko is also missing from the squad that has travelled to west London.

Arsenal have made two changes from the team that beat Manchester United 2-0 on Wednesday, with Zinchenko dropping out and Jorginho coming into the team.

Arsenal head to Craven Cottage in fine form after winning four games in a row across all competitions.

After the Merseyside derby was postponed on Saturday, Arsenal can move to within four points of Premier League leaders Liverpool with a win.

Confirmed Arsenal XI: Raya; Partey, Saliba, Kiwior, Timber; Odegaard, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Trossard

Subs: Neto, Tierney, Heaven, Lewis-Skelly, Merino, Sterling, Jesus, Martinelli, Nwaneri

Sunday 2pm GMT, Sky Sports

Venue: Craven Cottage
