According to Bild, Aston Villa are closing in on a deal for Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen.
It had previously been reported that the Premier League outfit were keen on luring the Dutchman to Villa Park but were far apart from BvB in their valuation of Malen.
However, as stated within the report, over the weekend, Unai Emery’s side increased their offer for the 25-year-old and are now close to reaching a deal with Dortmund.
While the two sides are yet to agree on a fee for Malen, it is believed that the deal is on the home straight, with the forward having already agreed to personal terms with the English side.
It is understood that Dortmund were holding out for €30 million but would be happy to accept a deal within the region of €25 million, and this is believed to be closer to Villa’s latest offer.
Should the Dutchman’s move to Villa Park go through, then Die Schwarzgelben would be able to become more active in the transfer window, and deals, such as a move for Chelsea’s Renato Veiga, would be financially possible.
