Aston Villa are closing in on landing Manchester City gem Kane Taylor, with a long-term deal on the table, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Taylor was a youngster that Aston Villa lost in 2019 when he was 14, as he made the move to Manchester City despite interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

Now Taylor, who was also wanted by Liverpool at the time he left, looks set to make the same journey in reverse and head back to Villa Park.

Aston Villa are ‘closing on an agreement’ to sign the midfielder, who has been turning out for Manchester City’s Under-21s side.

A ‘long term deal’ is on the table for Taylor, 19, to sign and it is almost sealed.

There is an agreement between the two clubs for the midfielder to make the move.

How much it might be worth is unclear, but Manchester City paid Aston Villa just £129,000 for Taylor in 2019.

Taylor will now return to a Champions League club in the shape of Aston Villa and will want to catch Unai Emery’s eye.
