WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this afternoon.
Robinson joins Aston Villa upon the expiry of her contract at former club Brighton & Hove Albion. The 21-year-old spent four years with The Seagulls after joining the club from Bristol City back in summer 2020. Robinson made 49 appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays Women’s Super League in which she scored eight goals.
On the international stage, Robinson is an England international. She has been capped on five occasions by the Lionesses to date and was a member of the squad that finished as runners-up at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.
After adding Robinson to his squad, Aston Villa manager Robert de Pauw said “I’ve known of Katie since I was head coach of the KNVB WU17. She played as a winger against my team and caused us a lot of difficulties. She has pace and knows how to make use of her qualities. She wants to add to her five international caps and wants to make the next step with us.
“Her ambition, to become better, matches ours. I believe she is a player who can be a difference-maker in games, and I very much look forward to what she will bring to Aston Villa Women.”
Robinson becomes Aston Villa’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
