According to L’Équipe Colombian striker Jhon Duran (21) is set to join Cristiano Ronaldo (39) at Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, ending Paris Saint-Germain’s bid to bring him to the Parc des Princes.
Les Parisiens were reportedly hoping to sign Duran, though the Saudi club had been pushing hard over the past few days to sway him into joining them instead. Those attempts appear to have been successful with L’Équipe indicating that Aston Villa are in the process of accepting an offer of over €70m from Al-Nassr for Duran’s services.
In 20 Premier League appearances this season, he has scored seven goals, the second-most in the team behind Ollie Watkins (29), who has 10. At the same time Duran leads the team with three goals in the UEFA Champions League, helping the Villains to a current ninth-place standing in the League Phase table and narrowly below Bayer Leverkusen on goal difference for an automatic spot in the last 16.
Duran was a part of the Colombian national team that finished second at the 2024 Copa America, losing in the final to Argentina (1-0 in extra-time).
