Aston Villa will not make a move for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philppe Mateta until Jhon Duran is sold, according to the Daily Express.

The Villans have been very active this summer in the transfer market in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Aston Villa’s young striker Duran has been linked with a move away to West Ham all summer.

The Hammers were interested in the 20-year-old Colombian forward but the Villans refused to compromise on price.

Now the London Stadium outfit have secured Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund and Duran’s potential move to Hammers may well not happen.

It has been suggested that Unai Emery’s side made an enquiry for Eagles striker Mateta recently but Crystal Palace have made it clear that the French forward is not for sale.

And the Villans are tipped not to test the waters with an offer for Mateta until Duran’s future at Villa Park is resolved.

Now it remains to be seen if Aston Villa will receive any offers for Duran by the end of this month.
