Erik ten Hag was in a defiant mood as he insisted Manchester United were improving after their goalless draw with Aston Villa.

United earned a clean sheet and a point against a below-par Villa to lift the pressure on Ten Hag ahead of the international break.

Red Devils co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was in attendance at Villa Park to see the 0-0 draw alongside director Sir Dave Brailsford and CEO Omar Berrada.

And after the game Ten Hag was adamant he has the trust of the club’s hierachy, telling Sky Sports: “We always speak, every week we speak.”
