Atalanta are still trying but are still well short of Celtic’s minimum price for Matt O’Riley, after the latest update this afternoon coming out of Italy.

The Europa League holders have reached €25M after multiple bids have been rejected and will have to pay, we reckon, an additional €4,146.250.89 IF they are going to get a green light from Celtic Park to sign their top target for this transfer window.

Italian Sports Journalist Nicolò Schira, who describes himself as an expert in the transfer market, has consistently provided updates on the Atalanta lowball bids for Matt O’Riley, with five and counting all being swiftly rejected by the Celtic Board.

Nicolò Schira, who has 329.8k followers on X, claims that Matt O’Riley has already agreed personal terms with Atalanta, presumably via a third party agency. And getting this transfer across the line will allow Atalanta to cash in on Teun Koopmeiners, who is wanted by Juventus.

Presumably they are not allowing themselves to be lowballed by their Serie A rivals?

Celtic’s asking price for Matt O’Riley remains at offer over £25m, anything less is unacceptable. We let Nicolò Schira know that the latest bid is still €4,146.250.89 short, so that he can pass on that information to his contacts at Atalanta. Saves all the hassle.

Atalanta are pushing to sign Matt O’Riley from Celtic for €25M. The midfielder has already agreed personal terms for a contract until 2029. He is Gasperini’s main target. After his signing expected Atalanta’s green light to Teun Koopmeiners’s sale to Juventus.
