Atalanta’s Joakim Mæhle close to Wolfsburg move | OneFootball

Atalanta wing-back Joakim Mæhle is now edging close to a move to German side Wolfsburg this summer.

Yesterday, Premier League clubs were linked with a move for the Dane. Gianluca di Marzio has now reported that the wing-back is edging close to a move to Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg. The Denmark international has already given his approval for the move to go through, with Wolfsburg having now offered a fee of €12 million to €13 million, which is higher than their previous offer for the 26-year-old.

The move is now closing, with Atalanta handing the go-ahead for the deal to move forwarrd in a decisive manner already. Bournemouth were interested in signing the wing-back up until yesterday but Wolfsburg now seem to have trumped the Cherries in their move for Mæhle.

The Dane had impressed for Denmark in the Euros in 2021 but has never been a consistent performer for Atalanta and Juventus were also linked with a move for him not too long ago.
