Atlético de Madrid have confirmed the extent of the injury suffered by Clément Lenglet during Sunday night’s win over Leganes.
The defender limped off in the 64th minute of the game and had to be replaced by José María Giménez.
Atleti have confirmed that tests have revealed a sprain to the left knee and ankle.
“The defender has a grade I sprain of the internal collateral ligament of the left knee and a grade I/II sprain of the deltoid ligament of the left ankle,” the club wrote on social media.
Lenglet will now undergo a period of rehabilitation but it’s unclear at this time how long he will be out of action for.
