Alexander Sørloth made LaLiga history as Atlético de Madrid's 4-0 thrashing of Real Sociedad assured their qualification for next season's Champions League.
Scorers: Sørloth 7', 10', 11', 30'
The Norwegian put the hosts ahead after just seven minutes at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano with a clinical volley from Pablo Barrios' right-sided delivery.
Sørloth extended the advantage a short while later through a low finish before recording LaLiga's fastest-ever hat-trick barely a minute on by rifling home.
A scooped finish on the half-hour mark proved to be the sum of the Rojiblanco's exploits as they opened up a nine-point cushion on Athletic Club in fourth.
La Real, meanwhile, remain 12th in the table.
