Javi Guerra and Valencia have an agreement with Atlético Madrid should Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher reject a move to the Spanish capital.

The move would reportedly be with a contract until 2030, consisting of a €25 million fee, with €5 million in bonuses and a sell-on clause of between 5 and 10 per cent.

The 21-year-old has been at Valencia since 2019, while last season he made 40 appearances with four goals and a single assist.

Prior to playing for Valencia, Guerra was part of the youth system at Villarreal but left their setup at the age of 16, then signed his first contract as a professional in May 2021.

He also plays for Spain’s under-21 side, making seven appearances at this level since receiving his first call-up in 2023.

Guerra’s consistent appearances last season have drawn the eyes of Spanish football, leading to this interest from other clubs within La Liga.

Whilst the move does rely on the collapse of Atlético’s swoop for Conor Gallagher, it is well worth keeping an eye on the young Spanish midfielder anyway, as he looks likely to make waves within Spanish football in the years to come.
