In the build-up to Saturdayâs World Cup clash with France, England will have spent countless hours working out how to combat the threat of Kylian MbappĂ©, Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann.
But perhaps they forgot about Aurelien Tchouaméni.
It was the Real Madrid midfielder who found himself with more than a yard of space in the 17th minute at Al Bayt Stadium, and he made England pay with a stunning strike from distance which goalkeeper Jordan Pickford could only grasp at as it flew past him into the net.
