Why were they nominated?

Because in just 12 short months, Bellingham went from one of the best talents in the game at Borussia Dortmund to one of the best players in the game period following his blockbuster (and dare we say bargain) €103m move to Real Madrid.

He took Spanish football by storm in his debut campaign, winning LaLiga's Player of the Season en route to the title and scooping Champions League Young Player of the Season on the way to winning that too.

The midfielder does it all and is truly a man for the big moment, as evidenced most recently by his Roy of the Rovers heroics with England on the brink at EURO 2024. It is important to remind yourself he is just 21.

As he says himself: 'Who else?'

Best moment since the start of 2023/24?

Well, allow us to pick two. After all, they are essentially the same moment.

Bellingham endeared himself to Real supporters in his maiden year in Madrid by contributing not one but two of the most dramatic ClĂĄsico winners in recent memory.

With the score level at injury-time in both LaLiga games against Barcelona this season, the Englishman came to the fore, proving his flair for the dramatic and sense of occasion, with last gasp winners in both.
