Nine-goal Ballymena United extended their winning start in the NIWFA Championship, Ballyclare Comrades edged a nine-goal thriller at Bangor.

Ballymena United netted nine times against Foyle Belles, as Ellen McClure’s hat-trick helped see them become the last Championship side on maximum points. Ballyclare Comrades edged a nine-goal thriller at Bangor aided by Anneli Moore’s double, as the hosts lost their 100% record. St James Swifts also dropped points for the first time, when going down 3-1 at home to Sion Swifts. Camlough Rovers saw off a fightback in the latter stages to register a 3-2 win over St Oliver Plunkett, Belfast Celtic were 7-1 winners at Comber Rec where Emma McGonnell’s treble included two penalties.

Greenisland netted nine goals at Rosario for a third straight win in Division 1, Ballymoney United Ladies beat Ballynahinch 3-1 as they also made it three wins from three. Armagh City came from 3-1 down to defeat Kilmore Rec 4-3 as Amy Robinson struck twice, while it ended goakless between Ballyclare Comrades Reserves and Ambassadors.

Chloe McGlade netted five for Division 2 leaders Strabane Athletic in a 9-1 beating of Ballymena United Reserves, Craigavon City stayed level on points with them as they sank hosts 22nd Ladies 6-1. Lisburn Distillery were 2-0 winners at Coleraine, Lisburn Ladies Swifts held onto a 3-2 lead over Banbridge Town despite a late red card.

Lisbellaw United’s third Division 3 win in a row came 6-2 against Carrick Rangers Falcons, Portadown drew 2-2 with Maiden City who were shown five yellow cards, including two for Catriona Taylor. Ballymoney United Reserves defeated Dromara Village 5-2, Mid Ulster Reserves went down 2-0 at home to Belfast Ravens.

Antrim Town still lead Division 4 on goal-difference after hitting Moneyslane for six, Raceview also kept up their perfect start with a 4-1 victory over Ballynahinch Olympic. Draperstown Celtic Diamonds defeated Belfast Swifts 2-1, Belfast Ravens Reserves beat Lisburn Rangers Athletic 6-1.

Valley Rangers remained goal-difference in front of St Marys (Newtownabbey) as Division 5’s top two drew 2-2. Rathfriland got both goals of the game against Shorts FC, Oxford Sunnyside shone  brightly in an 11-1 win at Comber Rec Reserves, Ards Rangers scored ten at Donegal Celtic with four from Allie Hamilton.

Greenisland Reserves remain in pole position in Division 6 having won 4-0 at Raceview Athletic, Carrick Rangers Falcons Reserves still goal-difference behind them after running out 7-0 winners at Holywood. Bloomfield won 5-1 at Wellington Rec and 22nd Ladies Reserves beat 1st Bangor by a similar scoreline.

There were three ties in the Women’s Challenge Cup 1st Round, as Greenisland eliminated Ballyclare Comrades 3-0, Antrin Town progressed 4-2 at Portadown and Ballymena United Women breezed past Hanover 16-0 as Nikki McKendry led the way with a five-goal haul.
