Situation“I worry about what I can control. I know that I am at a very important club, with a very demanding fanbase. I have to accept it. I understand that peoplecan criticise my work or shout whatever they want -as they have done with greatcoaches who have later won trophies. It is part of my job and I accept it,because we are at a club with a great level of demand.”The team“We try to isolate ourselves as much as possible from the current situation, but there are things that do not depend on us. I would like the situation andthe atmosphere to be different, but in football it is about confidence: Whenyou have it you feel better, with more energy. It's about self-esteem as well, and when you do not get the results then the players suffer, they are lessdaring and they make rash errors. But we have to navigate through this and keepgoing. The team try, they compete until the end, but we have to navigate thisdifficulty and keep going.”
Results “We believe in these players. The hard work is there. The results aren't coming. But I stick with the day to day work, with what we focus on. The game was difficult at the start and when we were at our best, another situation happened that led to the penalty to make it 1-2. These are things that happen because of nerves, because of anguish... The team responded to make it 2-2. We are in that moment when the cruelty of any detail hurts you. It is an excessive punishment. You have to accept it and move on.” The atmosphere at Mestalla “At no time have I criticised the atmosphere here. I understand that people are angry. I have explained how it influences us in the game. The fans can do what they think is appropriate. I understand the tension and it leads you to situations in the game that affect us. We have to navigate this difficulty and overcome it.” The transfer market “We will have to analyse the situation and analyse the causes in a cold-blooded manner and look for the reasons. We'll see what can be improved and the club, if they have the money to do so, will try to improve things.” Fran Pérez “It seems that he felt a twinge. It's a shame because he was feeling good and he had picked up rhythm. When you are down at the bottom, these circumstances all add up. Everything happens to you at once.”
