Having returned to action in October 2024, after nearly a year out due to an ACL injury, Gavi had to be eased back into action by Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.
The 20-year-old gradually grew in prominence in the team and became a regular starter around the turn of the year, but his minutes have again been dwindling in recent weeks.
However, things could be set to take a turn for the better for Gavi heading into the business end of the season.
Indeed, according to AS, if injuries remain at bay, Gavi could be poised for an extended run in the starting XI in the month of April.
According to experts, April was projected as the month when the young midfielder would reach his first performance peak after recovering from a serious right knee injury.
And with Dani Olmo sidelined due to an injury he sustained this past weekend, Gavi is a top candidate for the attacking midfield role in the upcoming matches.

As mentioned earlier, the 20-year-old La Masia gem had seen his playing time shrink in recent weeks. Before Thursday’s clash vs. Osasuna, the midfielder last started a game on February 17 against Rayo Vallecano.
The Spanish international also had limited involvement in the big games against Benfica (UEFA Champions League) and Atletico Madrid (Copa del Rey).
But, against Osasuna, Gavi delivered an impressive performance, that too in multiple roles.
Gavi has remained patient throughout this challenging period. Having followed his recovery timeline strictly, the 20-year-old has handled the inevitable ups and downs that came along with maturity.
Throughout this, he always believed his moment would come, and now it has.
