Barcelona add surprise Man United star to summer target shortlist | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have been tipped to launch a move for a leading member of the attacking ranks at Manchester United, amid their ongoing search for reinforcements out wide.

That’s according to transfer journalist Albert Fernández of Gol, who points towards Marcus Rashford as the player in question.

It is of course common knowledge at this point that the Barcelona brass are on the lookout for fresh blood on the left flank with a view to the season ahead.

After coming up short in pursuit of priority target Nico Williams, however, the Blaugrana have been left with no choice but to broaden their search.

The last couple of days alone have seen the likes of Federico Chiesa, Kingsley Coman and Rafael Leão all tipped as potential arrivals at the Camp Nou.

And yet, the latest name labelled as being on the watchlist on the part of Deco and co. has nevertheless come as something of a surprise.

As per the aforementioned Albert Fernández:

‘According to Barcelona sources, one of the names that Hansi Flick suggested for his only request (a left winger with goals and dribbling ability) was Marcus Rashford.’

It is as of yet unclear whether or not contacts have been initiated with Manchester United, but this could be one to keep an eye on over the remaining couple of weeks of the transfer window…
