Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are keen to add a midfielder to their respective squads before the summer transfer window closes on Friday. The former desperate need one after Marc Berna’s serious knee injury, and while an offer has been made for Stefan Bajcetic, others are being considered.
A market opportunity for either club could be Paris Saint-Germain’s Danilo Pereira. It’s unlikely that the Portuguese, who has often played in defence during his time at the reigning Ligue 1 champions, will be in the plans of Luis Enrique, so a departure appears certain.
According to Fabrice Hawkins, Barcelona and Atleti have registered their interest in Danilo, as have FC Porto.
It’s possible that PSG would accept a loan offer, although a problem could be the wage split that is demanded – neither Barcelona nor Atletico Madrid has much of a gap in their salary limit, so it could be difficult for an agreement to be reached.
