FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this afternoon.
Codina has spent her entire career to date contracted to the Spanish giants. She came through the Barcelona youth system before representing the club at B Team level. At senior level, Codina has made 29 appearances for Barcelona in the finetwork Liga F. The defender has also spent time out on loan at AC Milan in the past.
On the international stage, Codina has nine senior caps to her name for Spain while she has scored two goals. She was a member of the Spanish side which won the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.
After joining Arsenal, Codina said “I’m really excited – I can’t wait to start with the team and to be a Gunner. I knew all about the history of this club so when I found out Arsenal were interested, I didn’t think twice.
“We want to compete in all four competitions this season and I’m looking forward to making some memories with our supporters here.”
Codina becomes Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
