Although there are still some months left till the end of this season, FC Barcelona are already working to strengthen their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Blaugranes have been linked with several high-profile players to strengthen their squad ahead of the next season.
One such name that has been linked particularly strongly with the Catalans in the last few months is the German defender Jonathan Tah. According to Fichajes, the signing of the Bayer Leverkusen center-back is now a priority for Barcelona.
One factor that makes Tah such a highly attractive target for the Blaugranes is his contractual situation, as his current contract with the Bundesliga team is set to expire at the end of this season.
Despite returning to the 1:1 status at the start of this year, the Catalans are still facing financial constraints and thus would be looking to maximize the return on their investments this summer.
Thus, there would be not many options better than Tah, who, in addition to coming without any transfer fee, will also bring a lot to Hansi Flick’s team, especially his experience and reliability.

In fact, the German manager has already publicly acknowledged that Tah, with whom he has already worked during his time as the coach of the German national team, is one of his favorite players.
Therefore, in the coming months, Barcelona can start making moves to bring in the Bayer Leverkusen defender, who will undoubtedly be a significant addition to the Blaugrana team.
However, his arrival will complicate the situation of some of the other center-backs already present in the Catalan team, where Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi have been the regular starters this season, while Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia have also been important players.
Andreas Christensen, who is currently recovering from another injury, is another player who will compete for minutes in this position.
If Tah does join Barcelona, it remains to be seen how his arrival will impact the squad and what adjustments will be made to accommodate him.
