Barcelona consider January move for Bologna star | OneFootball

The transfer team at La Liga giants Barcelona have identified a member of the defensive ranks at Bologna as a potential signing.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards John Lucumí as the player in question.

Lucumí, for his part, has continued to make a name for himself as one of the standout defenders in Serie A across the season to date.

After seeing defensive partner Riccardo Calafiori depart over the summer, the Colombian international has stepped up his performances ever further, excelling on both sides of the ball.

And such efforts, it is understood, have begun to pique the attentions of some of Europe’s leading clubs, not least Spanish heavyweights Barcelona.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back ahead of the expected departure of Andreas Christensen, the Barca brass have earmarked Lucumí as a leading option.

So much so that the Blaugrana have been tipped to sanction a winter assault on his signature, in an attempt to beat out the competition.
