As the summer transfer window enters its final phase, the clock is ticking for Barcelona forward Vitor Roque.

The remaining days are critical for the Brazilian striker’s future with the club and according to a report from SPORT, Deco recently held another meeting with Andre Cury, Roque’s agent, in an effort to find the best possible solution for both the player and the club.

Roque, who joined Barcelona in the winter, taking advantage of a temporary salary gap created by Gavi’s injury, has yet to be registered for the new season.

There is no room or trust in Roque

Adding to the uncertainty, Barcelona have reassigned his number 19 shirt to young talent Lamine Yamal, further indicating that Roque’s position at the club is in jeopardy.

The Blaugrana are now exploring options for a sale that would allow them to recover part of the significant investment they made in him just a year ago.

Barcelona signed Roque for an initial €30 million, with an additional €31 million in potential add-ons. However, if Roque departs, those variables will remain unfulfilled.

Deco’s recent meeting with Cury underscores the urgency of the situation, as in recent hours, Sporting have emerged as the frontrunners to secure the Brazilian’s services.

Sporting have presented an offer

Their latest offer of €20 million, along with performance-based variables, is close to meeting Barcelona’s demands. The Catalan club’s priority is to secure a fee closer to the €30 million they initially paid for Roque.

However, not all potential destinations are equally appealing to Barcelona. Sources close to the club have indicated that Real Betis are not a priority destination.

Betis, unless they manage to make additional financial moves, could only afford to take Roque on loan, which is less desirable for Barcelona, who are keen on a permanent transfer.

Barcelona are determined to resolve Roque’s situation this week, as they shift their focus to other pressing matters before the transfer window closes.
