Barcelona face a new rival in transfer race for Man United star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have been forced to face up to fresh competition in their bid to bring Marcus Rashford to the club this month.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Turkish sources, who point towards Besiktas as having positioned themselves in the fray for the attacker.

The name of frontman Rashford has of course proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several weeks now.

As much comes amid the understanding that the England international has been identified as a leading mid-season transfer target by Barcelona.

Available on loan this month, Rashford is seen as a viable option to reinforce the left flank in Hansi Flick’s squad.

As alluded to above, though, whilst Barcelona remain the player’s priority when it comes to his next landing spot, the Blaugrana may not have it all their own way in efforts to land Rashford.

This comes amid confirmation that Turkish heavyweights Besiktas are readying a move of their own for the 27-year-old.

Rashford’s former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær was recently appointed the new head coach of Besiktas, with the Norwegian eyeing a reunion in Istanbul over the coming week.
