A head-turning statistic surrounding the respective goalscoring endeavours of Barcelona star Gerard Martín and Real Madrid attacker Vinícius Jr. across the early months of 2025 has come to the fore online.

This comes after the two players enjoyed altogether contrasting weekends in Spain’s top-flight.

Defender Martín, for his part, featured from the off in Barcelona’s meeting with Real Sociedad, taking his place at left-back in place of the rested Alejandro Balde.

And, en route to a 4-0 triumph, the 23-year-old enjoyed an outing to remember, notching his first-ever senior goal to open the scoring on the evening.

Turning attentions towards Vinícius, the Brazilian, on the other hand, was singled out for widespread criticism on Sunday.

This came after an altogether underwhelming performance on the part of both he and his teammates culminated in a surprise 2-1 defeat at the hands of Real Betis.
