Barring the lack of depth options for one or two positions, this FC Barcelona squad is well-covered in all of its areas, with Hansi Flick even having a surplus of players in the center-back and midfield positions.
However, the Catalans still remain on the lookout for the most promising footballing talents emerging across Europe and the rest of the world.
According to Fichajes, one such young talent that has caught the eye of the Blaugrana club is the 21-year-old Argentine winger Matías Soulé. Currently playing for the Serie A side AS Roma, the youngster has been showing incredible growth.
This growth has attracted the interest of several clubs across Europe, Barcelona being one of the most attentive to his situation as they believe him as a footballer with a lot of potential for the future.
After spending most of his time in the Juventus youth system, the Argentine joined AS Roma in the last summer transfer window for €25.6 million.
Since then, he has become an important player for the Romans, making 23 appearances, 14 in Serie A, 8 in UEFA Europa League, and 1 in Italian Cup. He has scored two goals, both in Serie A, in these appearances.
The 21-year-old has particularly impressed with his ability to unbalance defenses, while his vision and ability to create danger in the opposition area have also been excellent.
With these characteristics, Barcelona believe he will be a good fit for their team going forward, especially as he can play in several positions in the attack. Furthermore, the fact that he is still only 21 years of age, and can go on to grow further in the future also makes him an attractive option for the Blaugranes.
However, Roma will not make it easy for him to leave and would demand a sum at least higher than the one they themselves paid for him last summer. Thus, it remains to be seen whether the Catalans will have the financial capability to make a move for him and whether they make him a priority target to begin with.
