Wojciech Szczesny has been the biggest highlight for Barcelona this year, with the Pole establishing himself as the reliable first-choice goalkeeper in the absence of Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Szczesny hasn’t just replaced ter Stegen, but has transcended the German’s performances. In fact, he is yet to lose a single game since joining Barcelona – a run of 22 matches, in which the Pole has won 19 games while drawing the other three.
Szczesny’s run was extended to 22 games following Barcelona’s recent win over Leganes on Saturday, where the Pole made a series of crucial saves.
Following the win over Leganes, Szczesny will be looking forward to the upcoming Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.
This will be an opportunity for Szczesny to extend his unbeaten run to 23 games in all competitions, which will help him equal Johan Cruyff’s record, reports MARCA.

The Dutchman currently holds the record of the third-highest unbeaten run in his opening matches for Barcelona.
First place is occupied by Cesc Fabregas (30), followed closely by Paulinho, who went on a 25-game unbeaten run in his only season at Barcelona.
Szczesny, therefore, will have the opportunity to etch his name in the Barcelona record books if he can maintain his unbeaten run in the next few weeks.
The Pole, though, won’t be all too worried about this record and will be solely focused on getting Barcelona over the line, starting with the second leg tie against Dortmund, where the former Arsenal goalkeeper must defend a three-goal lead at the Signal Iduna Park.
