Barcelona continues its search for emerging football talent, with a particular focus on Brazil. The latest prospect to catch the club’s attention is teenage midfielder Joao Vitor Roraima, currently playing for the modest Brazilian club Ibrachina.

Indeed, as reported by SPORT, the Blaugrana have invited the young midfield prospect to take part in a training trial at La Masia.

The player arrived in Barcelona over the weekend and will be assessed by the club’s technical staff over the next few days to evaluate his potential.

The trial follows the interest shown in the player by Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco.

Roraima plays for Ibrachina’s Under-17 team in Sao Paulo’s eastern zone and has not yet been capped at the international level.

The young Brazilian, who typically operates as a No. 10, remains relatively unknown in both Brazilian and European football circles.

The teenager participated in January’s Copinha tournament but is not currently considered a standout among top prospects.

Ibrachina announced Roraima’s arrival in Barcelona through an official statement on social media, expressing pride in having one of their players training at what they called “the best academy in the world”.

In the same video, the player himself added: “Hello everyone, how are you? I am Roraima. I was invited by Barcelona for a training period and to get to know the club’s facilities.

“I am very happy for the opportunity and would like to thank God and everyone who helped me get here. I also want to thank Ibrachina for giving me this chance. I will certainly give my best there. That is all, we are in this together.”

Roraima’s trial does not guarantee a future signing with Barcelona when he turns 18, but it serves as an initial evaluation to observe his potential up close.

It is worth noting that the club has followed a similar process in recent years with African talents such as Ibrahim Diarra and David Oduro, both of whom have since been signed by the club.
