Ferran Torres showcased his brilliance by scoring a stunning hat-trick against Valencia in the Copa del Rey quarter-final, taking the match ball home as a reward.
Barcelona dominated the game, securing a commanding 5-0 victory. The match got off to an electrifying start, with Torres stepping up as the key player in Robert Lewandowski’s absence.
Barcelona’s relentless attack saw them score three goals within the first 22 minutes, effectively putting the game out of Valencia’s reach early on.
Torres, who has already reached 10 goals this season, played with precision and composure. Despite his outstanding performance, he chose not to celebrate any of his goals.
“We thought it would be a difficult game but we scored the first goals very early on (three in 22 minutes) and from then on, Valencia went downhill,” said the ‘Shark’ after the match as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
His decision was a mark of respect for his former club, Valencia, where he began his football journey. The forward expressed his deep connection to the club and wished them “all the luck” for the future.

The situation at Valencia has been troubling, with the club facing ongoing challenges both on and off the pitch. Many fans began leaving the stands before the first half ended, unable to watch their team struggle against Barcelona’s dominance.
Torres empathised with their frustration and urged Valencia supporters to continue backing the team.
He highlighted the importance of unity and support, especially during difficult times, and expressed hope that the club could turn things around and secure their place in the top flight of Spanish football.
“It is hard to see the club of your childhood like this, suffering. I ask for support from the players, for the fans not to focus on what is happening off the pitch. I hope that Valencia is saved and remains in the First Division,” he added.
