Dani Olmo’s superb start to life at Barcelona has been marred by an unfortunate injury.

The creative midfielder, who joined the Catalan club this summer, quickly made his mark, scoring three goals in his first four matches and establishing himself as the spark Hansi Flick was looking for in the team’s attack.

Olmo’s performances had been pivotal for Barcelona, and his contributions were on full display in the club’s recent 4-1 victory over Girona, where he found the back of the net once again.

However, the triumph was bittersweet, as the 25-year-old picked up an injury during the match. Barcelona later confirmed that Olmo would be sidelined for up to a month, ruling him out of several key fixtures.

Olmo eyeing return vs Bayern Munich

Despite the setback, the Spanish international is determined to return to the pitch as soon as possible.

According to Cadena SER, Olmo has set his sights on being fit for two critical games in October – Barcelona’s Champions League group stage clash against Bayern Munich on October 24 and El Clasico against Real Madrid just three days later.

Both fixtures could define Barcelona’s season, and Olmo is eager to be back in time to help his team.

The playmaker, after all, is well aware of Bayern Munich as an opponent, having faced them multiple times during his time in the Bundesliga. He is also keen on proving himself by performing against Barça’s arch-rivals, Real Madrid.

Olmo’s supposed goals also fall in line with earlier reports which claimed that Barcelona are aiming to have the player back in action by October 20, when the team takes on Sevilla.

The Spanish international has already kickstarted his rehabilitation and his progress will be monitored closely by Barcelona’s medical team, who are aware of the player’s past troubles with injuries.
