Barcelona suffered yet another blow in their bid to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, as La Liga and RFEF, in a joint statement, confirmed that the duo cannot be registered again.

The authorities argued that Barcelona cannot obtain licenses for a player whose previous license has been nullified in the same season.

The statement did not come as a surprise to many, including Barcelona, who are now likely to seek legal recourse in their bid to register the two players.

Barcelona optimistic about receiving precautionary measure

According to SPORT, Barcelona are, in fact, quite confident about receiving precautionary measures to register Olmo and Victor.

This comes despite the fact that Barça were shot down twice by local courts. The club have, therefore, are ready to take matters to the Higher Council for Sports (CSD).

CSD is the highest sports institution subscribed to the Spanish government and would be able to set up a mandate against La Liga and RFEF’s orders.

Barcelona are confident about receiving the green light from the CSD next week so that both Olmo and Victor can be a part of the squad going forward.

It must be noted that neither of the two players has been called up for tonight’s Copa Del Rey encounter against Barbastro.

However, Barcelona’s idea is to bring the two players on the trip to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup next week.

The club are hopeful about receiving the green light just before the semi-final clash against Athletic Club.
