The medical team at La Liga giants Barcelona have already begun working towards a target date, when it comes to Lamine Yamal’s return to competitive action.
Wide-man Lamine, for his part, was on Monday of course condemned to a fresh spell on the sidelines.
After a round of medical tests in Catalunya’s capital, the 17-year-old was diagnosed with a sprained ankle, which is expected to keep him away from the pitch for a period of three to four weeks.
Lamine suffered the injury during a La Liga meeting with Leganés on Sunday.
The Spanish international has in turn been ruled out of Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga meeting with Atlético Madrid, as well as the club’s Copa del Rey clash against Barbastro on January 4th.
From here, though, the hope is that Lamine will be available to play his part four days later, against Athletic Club.
Hansi Flick’s troops will kick their Spanish Super Cup campaign into gear on the 8th of January, in a meeting with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic.
And, according to Mundo Deportivo, a personalised treatment programme – featuring platelet-rich plasma injections and a protective boot – has already begun, with a view to Lamine playing his part in Saudi Arabia.
