Barcelona want to keep Munir El Haddadi at the club and will soon offer the striker a new contract, according to reports in Spain.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Alavés last season, during which time he scored 14 goals and assisted seven others.
Munir’s current deal is due to expire in June 2019 and having been impressed with his improvement over the last couple of seasons, Mundo Deportivo say Camp Nou chiefs will sit down with the Spain international in the coming weeks to go negotiate an extension.
The Moroccan-Spanish forward reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Sevilla and Udinese this summer, but the player is understood to want to stay and fight for a place at Barça.
His chances of muscling his way towards the front of the queue will be significantly increased if Paco Alcácer joins Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season, as now seems likely.
Munir started on the bench as Ernesto Valverde’s side took on Real Valladolid on Saturday evening.
